We are planning our cross-country trip for vacation next May. I decided to type it up now so we can figure out where we will be stopping, staying the night and who we can visit while we are there. Not to mention attractions and YUMMY "hole-in-the-wall" places to eat (thanks to Diners, Drive-ins and Dives).
This is a TENTATIVE plan. If you are close to our route or want to drive closer to our route let us know and we'll see what we can do with meeting up while passing thru. And sorry to some of my friends but North Dakota, Virginia, Alabama and Florida just didn't make the cut this time around. sniff sniff We can plan something up soon though I hope. I got sisters that LOVE road trips, so as long as I got gas money and you got a floor for us to sleep on you can bet your biscuits we'll be there. hehe
This should start in early May 2010
Most likely we will be flying from Hawaii into Los Angeles, where our truck will most likely be shipped.
While in LA we plan to visit Disney land.
From LA we will go to Alameda, to Aunt Mona's for a couple day visit. We want to see the Golden gate bridge too.
From Alameda we will go to Las Vegas, NV to for the night.
From Vegas we will stop to see the Hoover Dam and then be going on to Surprise, AZ to pick up a cedar chest that used to belong to Dustin's mom.
From AZ we will be going to Colorado Springs, CO to find ourselves a place to live before we continue on our journey.
From CO Springs we will go to Moore/Oklahoma City, OK. We will stay for approx a week. Will probably throw Kadi a birthday party while in OK.
From OKC we will go to Crown Point, IN to Aunt Trish and Grandma Lee's. Where we will DEFINITELY be staying the night, just cruel to make an old woman beg. (*snicker*)
From IN to Winthrop Harbor, IL to Dustin's Dad's house. Stay for a few days and then spend a few days in the Chicago area sight seeing and possibly see a Cubbies game.
From Chi to Lincoln, Nebraska for the night.
And then home to CO Springs.
