Fire Prevention Week

This week we learned all about fire prevention and what to do if there is a fire.

On Friday we watched a Fire Truck Parade
waiting for the Fire truck parade It was loud! Fire Prevention Parade Yummy candy

On Saturday they had an ordeal with all kinds of fun stuff. Mini fire tuck rides, free snow cones, lots of different emergency vehicles, a Jaws of Life Extracation. . and most important a fire escape deminstration.

excited! learning to "Stop, Drop and Roll" beautiful

OK now the fire escape deminstration. . . Why you may ask was this the most important part of the day.

They used fog as smoke and really filled up the trailor. . . with you in it. It makes the smoke detectors go off and then you have to crawl to find the door (using the back of your hand), crawl down the stairs and find your way out.

Mommy: I have never seen a deminstration like this before. It was really neat and a sure wake up call. You couldn't see a dang thing thru the "smoke". We learned a VERY important lesson. . . Kadi freezes when the smoke alarm goes off.

Going to do LOTS of practicing at home.

escape deminstration, was really neat

Greta pics of the kids! It's a great lesson to learn-we had a demonstration like this at National Night Out a while back. Very neat!
